Everything people ask before giving flowers.
From the French language-of-flowers tradition, especially "Le Langage des fleurs" by Charlotte de La Tour (1819, public domain), and its successors. When the modern meaning differs (hydrangeas once meant coldness, today gratitude), Brin gives both.
Yes: each flower has the months when it is in season in France, at florists (French or European growers) or in the garden. A potted orchid or eucalyptus are suggested all year round.
It works it out for the French calendar: last Sunday of May, unless it's Pentecost (then the first Sunday of June). Father's Day, Grandparents' Days, Valentine's Day, May Day and Christmas are tracked too. A personal occasion only shows up if you've added the person it concerns.
Brin finds them on its own for about 250 common French first names (the usual calendar of saints). For a name that's missing, add it by hand on the person's card.
Every plate says whether the flower is toxic to cats or dogs (lilies are deadly to cats, even the pollen). Tick "There are pets" in Settings and Brin leaves those flowers out of its suggestions.
